The 3 steps to juicing
Have you ever wondered how to juice? Our 3-step guide has everything you need to know to ensure you have the best juice cleanse with our organic, hand-picked produce. There are many health benefits of doing a juice cleanse. Juice cleanses give you a boost in your energy levels, and organic fruits and vegetables provide you with vitamins and nutrients your body needs to function optimally.
Step 1- Preparation.
In preparation for your juice cleanse, it's always a good start to remove any temptations from your cupboards. A good first step to take is cutting out alcohol, animal products, caffeine, nicotine, refined sugar, refined starches, and gluten from your diet. Having a diet that is high in fruits, vegetables and soups before your juice cleanse will benefit you much more, and it won't be as much of a shock to your body. Substituting alcohol and fizzy drinks by drinking plenty of water, smoothies, and herbal tea will ease you in for your juice cleanse, especially if you've started removing these things from your diet a few days prior to your cleanse.
Step 2- During your cleanse.
During your juice cleanse, make sure to stay hydrated by drinking at least 2 litres of water a day and as much herbal tea as you desire. If you're drinking herbal tea, make sure that you're doing this at least 40 minutes before or after a juice, as the heat can kill the enzymes in your juice. You can eat during your cleanse, but try and stick to healthy foods and light snacks, such as fruit and vegetables, light salads, soup and nuts or seeds. If you're wondering if you can exercise, you can. However, limit yourself to light exercises like walking or yoga. Your energy levels will fluctuate when you are on a cleanse, so it's important to listen to your body and use your cleanse as a chance to rest.
Step 3- After your cleanse.
Easing your way out of your cleanse is just as important as easing into it. Following the same diet as you did when you prepared for your cleanse is the best way because it avoids shocking your body with heavy foods that can be hard to digest. Try and avoid unhealthy foods going forward and enjoy the feeling of being energized after your cleanse- your body deserves to be looked after and needs the best fuel.
